Learn to play gongs and singing bowls or add them to your massage practice or meditation.
This class focuses on ambient sound therapy - How music & sound affects and aids in healing physical, spiritual or mental trauma.
Our entire world is made up of vibration, energy and frequency. Vibration, energy and frequency produced from Original Vibration... the Word, the Big Bang, AUM, Om. Our bodies are all made of that same energy/vibration. Illness and dysfunction are often related to disharmonies in these frequencies or energy fields. Ambient sound therapies aim to realign these frequencies and restore positive energy flow, retuning your body to a state of natural well-being.
Sound therapy has been practiced for thousands of years. Today, sound therapy enthusiasts understand that certain sounds like the overtones of gongs and singing bowls can help reduce stress and liberate emotional blockages. Some tones are thought to promote vitality and healing, and also to enhance happiness. Many alternative healthcare facilities such as Living Health Day Spa offer sound therapies including gong meditation to help manage various ailments. “Sound therapy is great for depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, PTSD and for healing the body, “says David Pryor with Living Health. “I do a lot of individual sessions and the results are fantastic.” This course focuses on vibration healing through the use of gongs, bells and singing bowls.
Whether you are learning for fun or need the CE hrs for LMTs, this course will teach both the theory and practice behind ambient sound therapies. You will work with any one (or more) of our 13 in-house gongs and a variety of himalayan singing bowls incorporating them into your meditation or massage practice. Although fun, this work is also very powerful and not to be taken lightly.
Information from day one and two are different but feel free to take either day or both. If you are a complete stranger to sound baths and sound work, day one is preferable, but not mandatory.
